If you read Colossians 3:16, you will see that we are commanded to teach, admonish one another, and more with the message of Christ. How can we do that if His message doesn’t dwell in our hearts, that we may share it with others?
Additionally, the beginning of the verse commands you to let God’s message about Christ dwell richly among you. How can we do that if we do not memorize Scripture? Memorizing Bible verses is very important to God, and should therefore be important to us.

So, yes, you can carry your Bible with you wherever you go, but what if you forget your phone? What if there is no internet service where you are? What if you aren’t allowed to carry a Bible? These are times when having God’s Word memorized comes in handy.
