Introduction and Purpose of This Bible Study
Have you ever read the book of Ruth? It’s not very long – just four little chapters. It’s hard to believe there is so much rich history in such a small amount of space. However, when you dig in, you see abundant lessons that could lead to real growth in your life.
Whether this is your first or fiftieth time to read through the book of Ruth, aim to do so with an open mind and willing heart. You will gain much from this Bible study if you are receptive to true meaning and application.
The goal here is not to change who you are. God made you that way for a reason, and you are beautiful just as you are. Rather, the book of Ruth is meant to show you that you can grow the parts of you that everyone loves and show less of the parts that you desire the least.
After all, if a girl from Moab can turn away from the many gods they worshiped and leave her past behind, you can change the ugly parts of yourself and learn how to be a shining example of one of God’s children!
So, shake off any preconceived ideas you had about Ruth and her past, and learn about her with fresh lenses. This will ensure you get the most out of this Bible study. We pray that this is a life-changing experience that will richly bless you.
Instructions
For this Bible study, you need to have an eager and willing heart and be ready to embrace and learn from God’s Word.
In each day’s Biblework, you will be given the verses from that day’s study to read. Those verses will need to be read for the day. There will be additional reading in God’s Word that you should also aim to do.
Please note: Some questions will come from both places – today’s verses and additional verses.
The Digging Deeper section will give you a bonus activity where you will take a closer look at the lesson, viewing it from a different angle. While optional, you will learn more and grow further by doing as much as possible. Typically, you get out the effort that you put in!
