Here are 50 weird ways to memorize Scripture so that you can place the Word of God in your heart and have it for use later on – when you need it most. This is an endeavor worth pursuing!
1. Use an app.
There are many Bible memory smartphone applications out there. My favorite is the Bible Memory App. It allows you to memorize up to 100 verses for free.
2. Try repetition.
One of the best ways to memorize Scripture is with repetition. You can just say it aloud over and over again, write it down several times, sing it in a song, or listen to yourself speak it or sing it on a recorder.
3. Make a song, and sing!
Really enjoy the verse by making up a song and singing it out loud over and over again!
4. Use flashcards.

5. Try hand motions.
Often, when we interact with our body, we remember things better. Give it a try! Act it out!

6. Make a flip book.
A flip book is a book with index cards. You can purchase one already made or make your own. This is similar to flashcards, but you use them with a ring or multiple rings holding them together.
7. Place it everywhere.
Use it as much as possible. You might wish to place the memory card by your sink so that when you wash the dishes, you can review it, or put it somewhere where you will frequently see it, so you can memorize it well.
8. Truly learn it.
Study the origin of the words in the Bible memory verse. The Hebrew/Greek Keyword Study Bible is handy for this.
9. Apply it in your journal.
